December
Unfortunately, bad weather caused the cancellation of some of our concerts. However, we were able to brave the snow and icy winds for three sessions of Christmas Carols outside Tesco in Craigmarloch. Our efforts were much appreciated and well rewarded by shoppers.

18th September - Youth Brass Fundraising Hike
|
Looking back it all seems so surreal, Croy youth band conductor Grant Golding agreed to theme the summer concert "Guitar Hero" if we did the West Highland Way for Youth Brass funds! 95 miles from the North of lasgow to the foot of Ben Nevis. Taking part in the walk was Angela Jarvie, youth band members Lewis and Louise Scotland and soon to be Youth Band member Callum Scotland accompanied by the bands mascot, BB the wee purple bear. |
On a damp July day the team headed out lead by Louise Scotland with the bands performance of Pinball Wizard
still ringing in their ears. Suffering the Scottish summer weather lead to some scrapes including a dislocated shoulder from avoiding a falling tree and mudslide - fallen arches and numerous blisters.
By the end of the week the team arrived wet but happy in Fort William. The support from people on the walk was fantastic and around £1500 has been raised for youth band funds.
Conductor Grant Golding said - I'm delighted that the team did this and all of us in the band are grateful of the support that all of the parents offer Croy Youth Brass or as Angela calls them - The Brass Brats!
